Scattered in many different countries and cities this weekend, we got some news that no one ever wants to hear. This week we lost one of our softball community members. The news about John Croucher from Diamond Dogs has deeply shaken us.We played against him so many times over the years, but one of our favourite memories was teaming up with him as part of the Sombreros and Diamond Dogs match up known as the Chihuahuas in Manchester.He’s right there in the middle at the back of this photo, and that’s exactly how we remember him, surrounded by friends, grinning, and probably about to say something completely ridiculous.John was warm, kind, and delightfully quirky. Whether it was a quiet word of encouragement or a totally off-the-wall joke, he always knew how to make people smile.Sending love and thoughts to all of @diamond.dogs.softball and John's family and friends. He’ll be in our hearts this weekend at Firstball. Rest easy our friend ❤️

LSL First Ball 2023 Cup Winners! A great day despite the icy May weather, but with our beer blankets on and Olés in top form we went out and played some damn good ball against some great teams. Nail biting at times, but we did it! There were some very very big dongs, great catches and thankfully only minor injuries! Big thanks to Rachel who was our MVP, Matt and Bendy who came out and joined us as honorary Sombreros, bringing their solid A game and team spirit! Can a get Olé please??! 🙌🏼

Sombreros annual festive feast 2022! May have felt a little early but with a tree, presents, a very large turkey, some fantastic eggnog and all the holiday tunes it felt pretty damn festive. A great night, with the best team around ♥️ it may have segwayed into the loo but it was worth it 😂 those who couldn’t make it were very missed, however it did mean more wine and Turkey for the rest of us. Olé! 🎄

Tonight marks the LSL season end for the Sombreros, it was a bittersweet win against our Mexican contingent the amazing @banditossoftball it was a tough well matched game with some big hits and some even bigger catches from both sides. An incredibly close 6-4 win that had the adrenaline pumping! Shout out to Ollie from @battitude_uk for helping us out with some excellent 3rd basing!
